So my sister tells us at a family gathering how she ate an ant and it turns out that they are sour and our dad adds very emphatically: “Oh yeah, ants are sour.” Excuse me, sir, were we just supposed to know that you already knew the flavor profile of ants?

Fun fact: what I call a “potato bug” is actually a “terrestial crustacean” in the family armadillidae – or maybe armadillidiidae. Or you can just call it a pill bug or roly poly.

Niche Issues
Hopefully it’s not too much of a commentary on my ability to call the right person. I at least feel a bit better when it is not something obvious and other people also don’t have any idea what’s going on.
